Valentine's day

Happy Valentine's day !. My name is Valentina and therefore I couldn't ignore this day ;-).
I know, many of you just dislike this day cause it is a very commercial celebration and also other people will find it annoying cause they are single and believe me, I do understand...I have been there, done that.
As for me, when I was a single girl I used to buy myself a present on this day and I got presents cause it was my "name day" and in Italy we celebrate it ;-) smart, uh ?.
Just keep in mind that we don't have to give this day too much importance. It's just a nice day when many couples celebrate and try to be more romantic than usual, that's all. It's not like we have to be romantic only on Valentine's day or that we have to use it rub off our happiness in front of other people.
The anniversary is much more personal, for a couple, of course. I am already thinking what to do for my first wedding anniversary that will be in July, so mind you !.

Buon San Valentino ! Il mio nome è Valentina e pertanto non potevo ignorare questo giorno in nessun caso ;-).
Lo so, molti di voi non amano questa giornata in quanto troppo commerciale, altri la odieranno perché single e credetemi, vi capisco perfettamente...ci sono passata anche io.
Per quanto riguarda me, anche da single mi sono sempre fatta un regalo per questo giorno e ho anche ricevuto auguri e regali in quanto mio onomastico e in Italia molti lo festeggiano ;-), forte no ?.
Ricordiamoci solo che non dobbiamo dare una importanza estrema a questa giornata. E' una giornata speciale nella quale molte coppie festeggiano cercando di essere più romantiche del solito, non significa che occorra essere romantici solo a San Valentino o che debba essere una occasione per sfoggiare le proprie relazioni amorose davanti a tutti.
Ad esempio, un anniversario è sicuramente una data più speciale per ogni coppia, è un giorno unico, infatti io sto già pensando a cosa programmare per il primo anniversario di matrimonio che sarà a luglio, immaginate !.

Anyway, aside from spending Valentine's day at work, in the office, then hubby and I will go on a dinner date. I will be in the office waiting for a relaxing, nice dinner with my husband, it's our first Valentine's day as a married couple !. In my dreams of a very romantic person, I'd like our dinner to be like one of the following options:

Comunque, a parte trascorrere gran parte del mio S. Valentino in ufficio, mio marito ed io andremo a cena fuori. Resterò in ufficio in attesa di una cenetta rilassante con mio marito, il nostro primo S. Valentino da coppia sposata !. Nei miei sogni di persona romantica, mi piacerebbe che la nostra cena si svolgesse secondo una delle seguenti opzioni:

Ok, I wish our dinner was like in one of those pictures...but I know we'll be in a nice restaurant filled with other people, maybe slow service, feeling both a bit tired for the day spent in the office...but everything will be ok anyway, cause the company is gonna make it special ;-).

Ok, vorrei che la nostra cena fosse come in una delle immagini mostrate...so invece che saremo in un bel ristorante pieno di gente, probabilmente servizio lento, sentendoci entrambi un po' stanchi dopo una giornata di lavoro...ma tutto sarà a posto comunque, sarà la compagnia a rendere la cena speciale ;-).

Anyway, even if you dislike Valentine's day, my wish for you all is to be happy, either if you are in a couple or you are single. And above all, never settle for less, often it happens at work but it doesn't have to happen with friendship and with love. Surround yourself with people that make you feel good and demand the big love, always. Believe.

Comunque, anche per chi odia San Valentino, il mio augurio per tutti è di essere felici, che siate in coppia o meno. E soprattutto, non vi accontentatevi di meno di ciò che meritate, spesso accade sul lavoro ma non deve accadere in amicizia e anche in amore. Circondatevi di persone che vi fanno stare bene e pretendete il grande amore, sempre. Credeteci.

In the mood for Christmas

Nothing puts me in the Christmas mood more than decorating the Xmas tree, it's something I am happy to do every year and I think the tree reflects my personality a lot...the colors are matching, it's mostly red and golden tones, but there's barely something identical on it, there's a bit of everything and I keep adding stuff cause I can't resist buying something new every year.
On every branch of my tree there's something special and often something that has a meaning, a memory attached to it, cause I am like this, it's hard for me to let go (I hardly throw away things, I get emotionally attached even to objects !) but there's also this constant wish to create new memorable moments and to get passionate about something new !.
In this period things are being hectic at work and I haven't still completed my Christmas shopping at all, what about you ? I just wish a day would last 48 hours instead of 24, to be able to do everything !.
I am looking forward to relaxing and to spending some time at home with family, here's a quick list of what I can't wait to do:

1) Watch classic Christmas movies, especially the Disney (Mickey Mouse) version and the Muppet version of "A Christmas Carol" from Charles Dickens, together with the trilogy of movies about the "Princess Sissi" of Austria is something I really like very much !
2) Listen to Christmas music (i.e. Sinatra) as well as Mariah Carey's Christmas songs
3) Bake some cookies and some kanelbullars (or cinnamon buns), I love the smell of cinnamon around the house !
4) Dress myself comfy with a new PJs, with red/green colors
5) Of course, playing with my presents, hehehe !
6) Eating anything and postponing detox to new year ;))
7) Playing some Wii games, I wish I had more spare time to play with my beloved Mario games, I am a Nitendo fan ! With hubby we love to play together with DJ Hero, mixing our fave songs !
8) Reading some relaxing book (I have the new Stephen King book waiting for me, hehe ! Pure entertainment !)
9) Catching up with friends
10) Ok, this is not a tradition but it's gonna become one: reading your blogs, of course !!!

Niente mi mette più di umore natalizio che decorare l'albero di Natale, sono felice di farlo ogni anno e credo anche che il mio albero rifletta molto la mia personalità...i colori sono abbinati, è quasi tutto nei toni del rosso e del dorato, ma è difficile trovare due oggetti identici tra loro, c'è un po' di tutto e continuo ad aggiungere oggetti perché non resisto a non comprare qualcosa di nuovo ogni anno.
Appeso ad ogni ramo del mio albero posso trovare qualcosa di speciale, che abbia per me un significato o sia legato ad un ricordo, ed io sono così: è difficile per me lasciare andare il passato (raramente riesco a gettare via le cose, sono emotivamente legata persino agli oggetti !) ma c'è anche questa costante voglia di vivere nuovi momenti da ricordare e di appassionarmi a qualcosa di nuovo !.
In questo periodo al lavoro è stressante e in più non ho ancora completato il mio shopping natalizio, e voi ? Vorrei che una giornata durasse 48 ore anziché 24 per fare tutto !.
Non vedo l'ora di rilassarmi e di trascorrere del tempo con la mia famiglia e, in particolare, di fare le seguenti cose:

1) Guardare i classici film di Natale, specialmente le versioni Disney (Mickey Mouse) e Muppets del racconto "Canto di Natale" di Charles Dickens, che insieme alla trilogia dei film su "La Principessa Sissi" mi piacciono davvero troppo !
2) Ascoltare musica natalizia, sia quella più "classica" (esempio, Sinatra) che le canzoni natalizie di Mariah Carey
3) Cuocere dei biscotti o Kanelbullars (o rotoli alla cannella), adoro l'odore di cannella per casa !
4) Vestirmi in modo comodo, con un bel pigiama nuovo dai colori natalizi, rosso e verde
5) Ovviamente, giocare con i regali ricevuti, hehe ;)
6) Mangiare di tutto e rimandare il detox ad anno nuovo !
7) Giocare un po' con la Wii...vorrei avere più tempo per riprendere i miei adorati giochi di Mario, sono una super fan Nintendo da sempre ! Con mio marito poi adoriamo sfidarci a DJ Hero, mixando le nostre canzoni preferite !
8) Leggere un bel libro per distrarsi un po' (il nuovo di Stephen King mi sta aspettando, hehehe...intrattenimento allo stato puro !)
9) Risentire gli amici
10) Ok, questa non sarà una tradizione natalizia ma lo diventerà: leggere i vostri blog, ovviamente !!!
