Satin fuchsia dress

Today is my birthday and I am spending it in an unusual way for me, in a tiny village on the mountains. I live by the sea and I wanted to change the landscape I see for a couple of days !.
I am a Virgo, do you believe in Zodiac signs or not ? I don't care much about horoscope, but I can say I do own a few features of my zodiac sign, and also of my Scorpio ascendant !.
Before posting a few pics taken here and introducing you to a new bag ;-), let me show you an outfit I wore a few days ago, I love the shade of fuchsia of this Dolce & Gabbana satin stretch dress, what do you think about it ?.

Oggi è il mio compleanno e lo sto trascorrendo in modo inusuale per me, in un piccolo villaggio tra i monti. Vivo sul mare e volevo cambiare il paesaggio per un paio di giorni !.
Sono del segno della Vergine, voi credete nei segni zodiacali o no ? Io non tanto nelle previsioni dell'oroscopo ma posso dire di avere qualche caratteristica del mio segno zodiacale e anche del mio ascendente in Scorpione !.
Prima di postare qualche foto scattata quì e presentarvi una nuova borsa ;-), volevo mostrarvi questo outfit di qualche giorno fa, amo la tonalità di fucsia di questo abito di Dolce&Gabbana in satin stretch, che ne pensate ?.

I was wearing my Loriblu heels and decided to spice up the outfit with a studded clutch from Zara and a spiked necklace I bought a while ago at Pull&Bear. I think Pull&Bear often comes out with lovely necklaces and bracelets and I keep an eye on their accessories counter !;-).

Ho indossato le mie scarpe col tacco di Loriblu e dato un tono più aggressivo all'outfit con una clutch borchiata presa da Zara e con una collana con le punte comprata tempo fa da Pull&Bear. Da Pull&Bear trovo spesso collane e bracciali molto carini, tengo sempre d'occhio il loro espositore ! ;-).

Here on the mountains I am trying to keep calm with shopping but it's really hard for a shopaholic like me, I have already bought a couple of things including a pair of Hunter boots...I decided to go for them after all the rain was pouring at home before I left to come here (where it's so sunny, thankfully !). Of course, I am an expert at finding new reasons to go shopping !.

In montagna sto cercando di tenermi lontana dallo shopping ma è davvero difficile per una shopaholic come me, infatto ho già acquistato un paio di cose, inclusi un paio di stivali Hunter...ho deciso di prenderli dopo tutta la pioggia che è caduta nei giorni precedenti la partenza (invece adesso c'è tanto sole, meno male !). Ovviamente, resto sempre un'esperta quando si tratta di trovare nuove scuse per fare shopping !.

Ops, I did it again !

I know, National Geographic is gonna hire me with all these animalier looks, but I just can't help loving it...so, ops, I did it again ! ;)
Yesterday I went to the movies to watch "Mission Impossible: Ghost protocol" only after completing my personal mission: buying a Prada bag I had been lusting for one entire week.
As always, I had a great pair of excuses to justify my purchase: celebrating the first year of this blog (thank all of you so much for your wishes !) and buying myself an anticipated Valentine's day present...it's really true...better than red roses there is...a red Prada bag ! ;)

Lo so, il National Geographic mi vorrà assumere con tutti i look animalier che posto, ma non posso fare a meno di amare le stampe leopardate...così, ops, l'ho fatto ancora ! ;).
Ieri sono stata al cinema a vedere "Mission Impossible: Ghost protocol" solo dopo aver completato la mia personale missione: comprare una borsa di Prada che avevo adocchiato la settimana scorsa.
Come sempre, avevo un'ottima scusa per l'acquisto: festeggiare il primo anno di questo blog e farmi un regalo di S. Valentino in anticipo...è il caso di dire, meglio delle rose rosse, una borsa di Prada rossa ! ;).

In these pics I am wearing Urban Decay's new Super Saturated lipgloss pencil, I love it so much ! It's long wearing and the color is so vibrant. I am using the color Big Bang ;)

Valentine's day is getting near...and I know people have mixed feelings over this day...some love it, other dread it and think it's just a commercial operation !. What are your views on it ?. I do personally think of course a couple should try to be romantic everyday, not only on Valentine's day, but I like this day cause my name is Valentina and I have always celebrated it even when I was single, years ago !.
Now to me Valentine's day is just another chance to be as corny as I can be with my love, LOL.
Of course I haven't always been happily in love, so I remember the feeling I had when I was a single and just looking at all those heart shaped images and cheesy stuff made me a bit nauseaous...so...Here are my general tips for spending Valentine's day:

- If you are in a couple, spend your day with your loved one doing something you BOTH like...watch a movie, go for a walk, even something simple, cook a special dinner or go to a cozy restaurant, try to surprise your lover with something different
- If you are a single and you feel a bit low, engage in a bit of shopping, either offline or online...there's nothing bad in pampering yourself a bit, cause after all it's true you must love yourself first :)

Il giorno di S. Valentino si avvicina...e so che i pensieri circa questo giorno sono molto diversi...alcuni lo amano, altri quasi lo temono o pensano sia solo una operazione commerciale ! Quali sono le vostre opinioni in proposito ?. I penso naturalmente che una coppia dovrebbe cercare di essere romantica ogni giorno, non solo a S. Valentino ma devo dire che mi piace anche perché mi chiamo Valentina e proprio per questo l'ho sempre in qualche modo festeggiato, anche quando, anni fa, ero single !.
Ora S. Valentino per me è solo un'altra occasione per essere ancora più sdolcinata col mio amore, LOL.
Non sono sempre stata felicemente innamorata, pertanto ricordo come mi sentivo da single e quando il solo guardare tutti quei cuoricini e cose un po' kitch mi disgustava un bel po'...allora, ecco i miei consigli per S. Valentino:

- Se siete in coppia, trascorrete la vostra giornata facendo qualcosa che piaccia ad ENTRAMBI...guardate un film, passeggiate insieme, anche qualcosa di semplice, cucinate una cenetta speciale, andate in un bel localino, cercate di sorprendere la persona amata facendo qualcosa di diverso
- Se siete single e vi sentite un po' giù, fate un po' di sano shopping, sia offline che online...non c'è niente di male nel coccolarvi un po', dopotutto è vero che bisogna innanzitutto amare noi stessi ;)
Alcuni siti di shopping online faranno delle speciali promozioni per S. Valentino...

Ten things I've learned from my fashion blog

Hey guys ! I'd like to share with you ten things - not really serious - I've learned from having a fashion blog. Read on and tell me what you think !.

1) Any corner of your town/the world, even the ugliest one, can be a perfect background to shoot an outfit...just find a tree, a road, an old car or anything that catches your attention
2) You don't have to feel weird if you're wearing sunglasses after the sunset and you're not a Vampire, not really. LOL
3) If you're wearing very clashing colors, you can always tell as an excuse that I you're experimenting with a new color block trend!
4) When pictures don't come out as you would have liked to and you threaten to fire your photographer, take a deep breath and remember it's your fiancé/husband ! LOL
5) You suffer from cold but if you are shooting an outfit you become unsensitive to cold wind and all you can think about is "let's do this quick" (then you get a cold like me, cough cough...;-))
6)Before going out, instead of worrying about getting your car keys with you, you better worry about having charged your camera battery !
7) Your family learns about your new purchases by looking at your outfits on the blog
8) You get indifferent at people staring at you when you're shooting pics in the middle of nowhere
9)Jeffrey Campbell shoes can be worn in the Office ! Even with a severe tailleur ;-)
10)If you need to know something very quickly, forget the phone/sms thing...use twitter ! My twitterfriends rule :-)...by the way, what do you think about following me on Twitter by clicking on the button here below ? ;-)

Ciao a tutti ! Vorrei condividere con voi dieci cose - non necessariamente serie - che ho imparato dall'avere un fashion blog. Leggete e ditemi la vostra !.

1) Qualsiasi angolo della vostra città/del mondo, anche il più brutto, può diventare il perfetto sfondo per foto di outfit...trovate un albero, una strada, una vecchia macchina o qualsiasi cosa possa attirare la vostra attenzione
2) Non dovete sentirvi strani a scattare foto in occhiali da sole al tramonto, sebbene non siate vampiri, LOL
3) Se state indossando colori contrastanti e abbinati male, potete sempre usare la scusa del color block !
4) Quando le foto scattate non escono come le avreste volute e minacciate di licenziare il fotografo, fate un respiro profondo e ricordate che si tratta del vostro fidanzato/vostro marito !
5) Sebbene soffriate il freddo nel momento in cui vi stanno fotografando diventerete insensibili al vento e tutto ciò che riuscirete a pensare è "facciamolo in fretta" ! (E poi finirete per raffreddarvi, come me...cough cough !)
6) Prima di uscire, anziché preoccuparvi di prendere le chiavi dell'auto, preoccupatevi del fatto che la batteria della vostra fotocameria sia carica...
7) La vostra famiglia viene a conoscenza dei vostri ultimi acquisti guardandoli sul blog
8) Diventate indifferenti alle persone che vi fissano mentre vi fate fotografare nel mezzo del nulla
9) Le scarpe di Jeffrey Campbell possono essere adatte all'ufficio ! Anche con un serio tailleur ;-)
10) Se avete bisogno di sapere qualcosa in fretta, dimenticate il telefono/sms...usate Twitter ! I miei twitamici sono eccezionali...anzi, se volete seguitemi su twitter cliccando sul bottone che trovate sotto ;-)

11-11-11, a special date

11-11-11...this is surely an uncommon date, millions of websites have been talking about this and also books, tv and Wikipedia.
I don't know if this date holds any special significance for the world but I know that this day has, for sure, holds a special meaning to me...cause my very best friend and love of my live was born on 11-11 and therefore, this is his big day !. Usually I speak fashion, and I am still doing it...but this post is a great chance to celebrate the man I love and also Fashion and Cookies' official photographer, the man I am proud to call my husband !.
After all, it's also thanks to him that I opened this blog, he encouraged me to do it, he knows well how much I like to express myself, how much I love fashion and how much friends, family and some mutual people we know used to talk about fashion with me, listening with curiosity to my speeches about that thing I must buy to be absolutely satisfied or just grinning at one of my outfits.
We met at work, when he was just a serious, professional and even grumpy expert and I can say with no doubt that my weird matches had a role in making his heart melt ;-). He admitted to being curious to see me in the morning cause I always had that personal touch in my clothes that made me stand out and he could tell about my mood from my clothes.
Now he's the one coming with me for a shopping spree - a hero for this - waiting for me patiently when I decide to try almost all the clothes a shop has...the one shaking his head when something doesn't look too good and also the one smiling when he sees me all happy just cause I found what I was looking for. He knows me well, and yet, he thinks I rock anyway ! - That's love !. Happy birthday E., love, if this is "fashion" then you're the "cookie" !.

11-11-11...non è sicuramente una data comune, ne hanno già parlato milioni di siti, oltre ai libri, alla tv e a Wikipedia. Io non so se questa data abbia un qualche arcano significato speciale per il mondo, so solo che questa data ha, sicuramente, un significato speciale per me...perché il mio migliore amico nonché amore della mia vita è nato proprio l'11-11 e, pertanto, questo è il suo grande giorno !.
Di solito parlo di moda, e continuo a farlo...ma questo post è una grande occasione per celebrare l'uomo che amo nonché fotografo ufficiale di Fashion and Cookies, l'uomo che sono orgogliosa di poter chiamare mio marito !.
Dopotutto, è anche grazie a lui che ho aperto questo blog, mi ha incoraggiata a farlo, conosce la mia voglia di esprimermi e quanto io ami la moda e ha visto che amici, familiari e altri conoscenti comuni hanno sempre parlato di moda con me, ascoltando divertiti i miei discorsi su un articolo che avrei dovuto avere assolutamente per sentirmi soddisfatta, li ha visti sorridere incuriositi guardando uno dei miei outfits.
Noi ci siamo conosciuti sul lavoro, quando lui era soltanto un serio, professionale e anche abbastanza scontroso esperto e posso affermare con sicurezza che i miei improbabili abbinamenti hanno contribuito allo sciogliersi del suo cuore ! ;-).
Ha ammesso che era curioso di vedermi la mattina perché avevo sempre almeno un dettaglio particolare che si faceva notare nel mio abbigliamento e poteva anche capire il mio stato d'animo dagli abiti che avevo scelto.
Ora è anche colui che viene a fare shopping con me - un vero eroe per questo - aspettando pazientemente quando decido di provarmi quasi tutto il negozio...colui che scuote la testa quando qualcosa non mi sta bene e quello che ride guardandomi sprizzare felicità da tutti i pori quando ho trovato ciò che stavo cercando.
Mi conosce bene ed eppure, gli piaccio lo stesso...questo è Amore ! Buon compleanno E., amore, se questa è "fashion", per me tu sei il "cookie" !.
