My small guide on where to find the best lightweight, functional, resistant and cheap bags, useful to travel, for office, to run errands or just for a weekend getaway 

We all ask ourselves where to find a lightweight, functional, resistant and cheap bag, at some point in our life, and it may be for different reasons: to travel, for office life, for a weekend getaway, for work, for University, and so on. As a bag lover, I admit some of my it-bags are already heavy weight when they are empty, and since as a control freak I tend to bring way too many things with me, so I let you imagine how heavy is the weight I carry around sometimes. Luckily, I have come to appreciate high quality bags that have a lightweight structure and that are very roomy, and some of them really have a place in my heart now because are really pretty looking, suitable for all ages and, this time...they don't cost too much !. Before reading my small guide to the best lightweight bags, let's say that they all have a few things in common: nylon or cloth is the fabric of choice - it's resistent, affordable, very lightweight and it doesn't fear the rain, and two handles so that the bag can be carried at my shoulder or at my arm. We're talking about daytime bags, suitabe until evening if you are in an easy situation, but mostly these bags are going to be your best friend when the going gets tough. My advice is: pick a colorful one ! A black nylon bag can be dull, but there are wonderful lightweight bags in original prints and bold colors - these are bags to show off, not to be hidden, and if you really can't go out of home without your Prada or your Chanel crossbody bag, be sure you can carry them both, especially if you are travelling !

Tutte ci chiediamo dove trovare una borsa leggera, pratica, resistente ed economica, ad un certo punto della nostra vita, per svariate ragioni: per viaggiare, per la vita da ufficio, per un weekend fuori porta, per lavoro, per l'università o altro. Da amante delle borse, ammetto che alcune delle it-bag che possiedo sono già pesanti da vuote, e da maniaca del controllo quale sono tendo a riempirle parecchio, per cui vi lascio immaginare il peso che a volte mi porto dietro. Ho iniziato, da tempo, ad apprezzare borse di qualità dalla struttura leggera che siano anche  molto capienti, e ce ne sono alcune che hanno fatto breccia nel mio cuore perché sono belle, adatte ad ogni età e, almeno questa volta, non costano troppo ! Prima di leggere la mia piccola guida alle migliori borse leggere, alcune caratteristiche di questo tipo di borse sono comuni, ovvero: il nylon o, comunque, il tessuto come materiale principale - resistente, economico, leggero, non teme neanche la pioggia e due manici, per poter essere portate comodamente sulla spalla o a braccio. Si tratta di borse da giorno, adatte fino a sera se siete in un contesto easy, ma principalmente saranno le vostre alleate quando il gioco si fa duro. Il mio consiglio è: sceglietene una colorata ! Una borsa in nylon nera può sembrare anonima, ma ci sono tante borse leggere con stampe particolari e colori vivaci - sono borse da mostrare, non da nascondere, e se proprio non riuscite a separarvi dalla vostra tracollina Prada o Chanel, sappiate che potete portarle con voi entrambe, specialmente se in viaggio !.

I consider bags to be the best fashion investment out there, after all we wear them all the year round and to me a beautiful design has to go together with quality leathers and perfect craftmanship. I am glad to share a bit of history of Angel Reinares with you, because this is the story of a family: Angel Reinares began working at the side of his father in a leather workshop at the age of 15 years old. After moving to Barcelona, where he improved his skills and learned the art of design, he decided to start his own line of handbags in 1965. His reputation grew in time and became legendary and from 2000 his son work with him as the creative director and chief designer. Chi altro ha voglia di Primavera ? Io ne ho tanta ! Da brava fashion blogger, ecco un post con qualche idea su cosa comprare per la Primavera, secondo tre trend che andranno per la maggiore, accomunati tutti dalle bellissime borse in pelle di un brand spagnolo del quale vi parlo su questo fashion blog: Angel Reinares. Considero le borse come l'investimento fashion per eccellenza, dopotutto rappresentano un accessorio adatto a tutte le stagioni e per me il design si deve necessariamente coniugare con la qualità dei pellami e della fattura. Sono lieta di raccontarvi un po' della storia di Angel Reinares, perché è una storia che parte da lontano, da quando Angel iniziò a lavorare i pellami al fianco di suo padre in un piccolo laboratorio, dall'età di 15 anni. Successivamente, dopo essersi trasferito a Barcellona e ad aver imparato l'arte del design e affinato le proprie competenze, decise di lanciare una sua linea di borse. Era il 1965. La reputazione crebbe enormemente con il tempo e dal 2000 suo figlio  lo affianca come direttore creativo e capo stilista, in un'azienda, la Angel Reinares, che produce borse di alta classe fatte artigianalmente con pellami eccellenti, piccoli gioielli che meritano un posto d'onore nella wishlist di una fashion blogger o fashionista.

As a lover of bags, I couldn't help but joining Giada and the other fellow bloggers in this task ! The only problem is that we are supposed to list 5 top bags, one for each moment of the day (or night)...and there's more than 5 in my wish-list ! Anyway, I hope you enjoy the post and that let me know your opinion !. Now all I feel like adding is that...gotta catch them all, just like Pokemons !!!.

Il mio post di oggi è ispirato da una simpatica iniziativa di Giada di The Style Corner, una deliziosa blogger che ha avuto l'idea di scrivere un post collettivo indicando le nostre 5 borse iconiche, invitando altre blogger appassionate di borse a fare lo stesso per poterci confrontare sull'argomento. 

Capirete che non potevo non cimentarmi anche io in questo piacevolissimo compito ! L'unico problema è che l'elenco deve essere di 5 borse in totale, una per ogni momento della giornata (e nottata...)...e ce ne sono più di 5 nella mia wish-list ! Comunque, spero il post vi piaccia e sono curiosa di conoscere le vostre opinioni in merito !. Per ora mi sento solo di aggiungere "Gotta catch them all", proprio come se fossero Pokemons !!!.

Marc Jacobs bag and leather jacket

Going out with my new Marc by Marc Jacobs bag has been one of the highlights of the weekend, together with sunny weather ! I was finally able to wear a leather jacket :).
This Mango dress was waiting for me in my closet with tag still attached and it was screaming to get my attention...I have so many hangers in my closets that it's hard to find something, this is truly the time of the year when I get completely lost in my closets...it isn't totally warm yet so wool clothes and coats are still around and there's new things being added all the time !.
You can easily sport me talking by myself when I can't find something, it's not that I am a crazy, at least not totally...I am just a shopaholic that feels defeated from the concept of space !. Do you also complain and get nervous when you can't find something or do you still have control over your own clothes ? Let me know that I am not alone, please :-).

Uscire con la mia nuova borsa Marc by Marc Jacobs è stata sicuramente una delle cose migliori di questo weekend, insieme al tempo che è stato soleggiato e caldo ! Finalmente ho potuto indossare una giacca di pelle. Questo abito di Mango mi stava aspettando nell'armadio con l'etichetta ancora attaccata da un bel po' e stava gridando per attirare la mia attenzione...ho così tante stampelle nei miei armadi che è molto difficile trovare qualcosa, questo è il periodo dell'anno in cui mi sento più impotente di fronte all'avanzare del disordine...non è ancora abbastanza caldo da poter abbandonare abiti in lana e cappotti e in più ci sono nuovi acquisti che continuo ad aggiungere !.
Mi capita spesso di parlare da sola e mi lamento di non riuscire a trovare un abito, non è che io sia pazza, almeno non completamente...sono solo una shopaholic che si sente ormai sconfitta dal concetto di spazio !. Anche voi vi lamentate spesso e vi innervosite quando non riuscite a trovare qualcosa o avete ancora il controllo totale dei vostri abiti ? Fatemi sapere che non sono l'unica, per favore :-).

I don't like to complain but lately there's something that bugs me...I notice many average brands have lifted their prices in a way that has no meaning. Example: a couple of days ago I entered at Liu-Jo shop and was very surprised to see their prices went pretty sky-high and the quality stays the same. I had seen a denim jacket with a line of sequinned pearls and it costed as much as a leather jacket !. I am sorry cause I have seen the same thing happening to another brand, Sixty was a brand I adored but I don't buy as much as I used to from them cause prices went ridiculously high and the quality didn't improve.
I think this is a no win strategy cause people will either go to higher quality brands or if they need o save, will go to low cost brand.
Another thing that bugs me is that a few shops in my town sell clothes from abroad online shops at a higher price...don't they know that now that most of online shops sell worldwide customers can check on the price ? It's not a good thing when you find out only after your purchase that you could have ordered that dress online for a much cheaper price !. Italians: do you agree ? And if you are not in Italy: does it happen in your country, as well ?. Anyway, as a result of this I find myself more and more attracted to online shopping !.

Non mi piace lamentarmi ma ultimamente qualcosa mi infastidisce...noto che molti brand di medio livello hanno alzato i prezzi in modo davvero ingiustificato. L'altro giorno, ad esempio, sono entrata nel monomarca Liu-Jo e ho trovato dei prezzi molto alti per la qualità dei prodotti. Avevo puntato una giacchina in jeans che solo per un filo di perle applicate costava come una giacca di pelle !.
Credo che questa non sia una strategia vincente perché le persone preferiranno puntare o su brand dalla qualità maggiore o, se vogliono risparmiare, andranno sul low cost !. Mi dispiace perché ho visto accadere una cosa simile alla Sixty, brand che adoravo e che ora uso poco proprio perché a mio modesto parere i prezzi sono troppo alti e la qualità non è cresciuta.
Credo questa strategia non sia premiante: a questo punto molta gente preferirà puntare su brand di livello più alto oppure si dirigerà su brand low cost che hanno almeno un prezzo inferiore.
Un'altra cosa fastidiosa: alcuni negozi della mia città vendono abiti che si possono comprare online da negozi esteri ad un prezzo notevolmente superiore...non sanno forse che ormai, dato che la maggior parte dei negozi online spediscono in tutto il mondo, i clienti possono controllare il prezzo ? Non è piacevole scoprire solo dopo l'acquisto di aver pagato inutilmente un prezzo gonfiato. Italiani: siete d'accordo con me ? E se non siete in Italia: accade anche nel vostro paese ?. Io, di conseguenza, mi scopro sempre più fan dello shopping online !.

5 reasons why designer bags win over designer clothes

Shopping means fun and it also means investment. We all wish we could buy anything we wanted to and we'd all go for the best, but what if we had to choose ?. I am a fan of designer bags and if I have to go on the cheap I will always choose cheap dresses over cheap bags. The "right bag" - like the Balenciaga I am sporting on these pics - can give the right allure to any outfit I think !.
Here's my five points theory on why buying expensive bags is better than buying expensive clothes.

1) An overworn luxury bag becomes luxury vintage...many overworn clothes get holes and become just...too old to wear !
2) If you run out of money, it's easier to sell off a luxury bag than worn clothing ;)
3) If you don't have much money, you can only have one statement bag...but even if it was VERY well tailored, could you live with only ONE dress ?
4) Our bodies change with time...we can get thinner or fatter or just a skirt can get too short and not suitable for our age. A bag will ALWAYS suit us !
5) A nice dress can't hide some belly fat but a beautiful large bag on your arm sure can ! LOL

Shopping vuole dire divertimento ma anche investimento. Tutti noi vorremmo poter comprare qualunque cosa ci piaccia senza badare al prezzo, ma se dovessimo scegliere ?. Dovendo scegliere, tra una borsa firmata ed un abito di design preferirò sempre la borsa. Infatti, secondo me, la "borsa giusta" - come la Balenciaga di queste foto - può dare una marcia in più a tutto l'insieme !.
E quì spiego la mia teoria in cinque semplici ma essenziali punti :-)

1) Una borsa molto usata ma di lusso diventa vintage...abiti molto usati diventeranno lisi e sembreranno semplicemente...vecchi !
2) Se finite i soldi, è più facile rivendere una borsa di lusso che abiti usati ;)
3) Se non avete molto denaro a disposizione, potete avere una sola borsa di un certo livello...anche se fosse cucito magistralmente, potreste resistere con UN solo abito ?
4) Il nostro corpo cambia con il tempo...possiamo dimagrire o ingrassare e allora gli abiti ci staranno male oppure non saranno più appropriati all'età, tipo gonna troppo corta...Una borsa invece ci starà SEMPRE bene !
5) Un bel vestito non riuscirà a nascondere un po' di pancetta ma una bella borsa portata al braccio, soprattutto se capiente...sì ! ;-)
