Striped miniskirt

How did your Christmas go ? Did you get any beautiful present ? My hubby got my an iPad Mini and I love it cause I am gonna bring it with me all the time now, without worrying about fitting it in my bag ! ;). I also have a few new entries that I will be showing you in my outfit posts. Now, after a more relaxed outfit, a new outfit with a miniskirt !. I bought this striped black and burgundy miniskirt at local Zara, one of my fave shopping hangouts, as you already know !.

Come è andato il vostro Natale ? Avete ricevuto qualche bel regalo ? Il mio maritino mi ha regalato un iPad mini e lo adoro, ora posso portarlo con me senza dovermi preoccupare delle dimensioni della mia borsa ;). Ho anche alcune new entries che vi mostrerò nei prossimi post di outfit. Ora, dopo un look più rilassato, un nuovo outfit con minigonna ! Ho comprato questa miningonna a strisce nere e bordeaux da Zara, uno dei miei luoghi preferiti per lo shopping, come già sapete !.

The central part of this outfit are no doubt my boots, I love them so much because they have this '60 vibe, for their shape and mirror heels, they have high heels that are comfy enough and their leather is very soft. You are going to see me wearing them often, absolutely !. You can see them better in the pic below. I am a sucker for soft black leather items...in fact my latest bag purchase is a black and roomy bag, I am gonna show it to you soon ! Are you getting ready for New Year's eve ? We're going to the mountains for a few days, mostly to relax and I can't wait !. How are you gonna spend New Year's eve ?.

La parte centrale di questo outfit sono senza dubbio i miei stivali, li adoro perché hanno un'aria anni '60 grazie alla loro forma ed al tacco a specchio interno, sono alti ma sono comodi e di un pellame molto morbido. Me li vedrete indosso molto spesso, sicuramente !. Potete vederli meglio nella foto sottostante. Ho un debole per i capi in morbida pelle nera...infatti anche il mio ultimo acquisto in fatto di borse è una borsa spaziosa e nera, ve la mostrerò presto ! Intanto, siete pronti per l'ultimo dell'anno ? Noi andremo in montagna per qualche giorno, più che altro per rilassarci e non vedo l'ora !. Voi come trascorrerete il Capodanno ?.

Marc Jacobs bag and leather jacket

Going out with my new Marc by Marc Jacobs bag has been one of the highlights of the weekend, together with sunny weather ! I was finally able to wear a leather jacket :).
This Mango dress was waiting for me in my closet with tag still attached and it was screaming to get my attention...I have so many hangers in my closets that it's hard to find something, this is truly the time of the year when I get completely lost in my closets...it isn't totally warm yet so wool clothes and coats are still around and there's new things being added all the time !.
You can easily sport me talking by myself when I can't find something, it's not that I am a crazy, at least not totally...I am just a shopaholic that feels defeated from the concept of space !. Do you also complain and get nervous when you can't find something or do you still have control over your own clothes ? Let me know that I am not alone, please :-).

Uscire con la mia nuova borsa Marc by Marc Jacobs è stata sicuramente una delle cose migliori di questo weekend, insieme al tempo che è stato soleggiato e caldo ! Finalmente ho potuto indossare una giacca di pelle. Questo abito di Mango mi stava aspettando nell'armadio con l'etichetta ancora attaccata da un bel po' e stava gridando per attirare la mia attenzione...ho così tante stampelle nei miei armadi che è molto difficile trovare qualcosa, questo è il periodo dell'anno in cui mi sento più impotente di fronte all'avanzare del disordine...non è ancora abbastanza caldo da poter abbandonare abiti in lana e cappotti e in più ci sono nuovi acquisti che continuo ad aggiungere !.
Mi capita spesso di parlare da sola e mi lamento di non riuscire a trovare un abito, non è che io sia pazza, almeno non completamente...sono solo una shopaholic che si sente ormai sconfitta dal concetto di spazio !. Anche voi vi lamentate spesso e vi innervosite quando non riuscite a trovare qualcosa o avete ancora il controllo totale dei vostri abiti ? Fatemi sapere che non sono l'unica, per favore :-).

I don't like to complain but lately there's something that bugs me...I notice many average brands have lifted their prices in a way that has no meaning. Example: a couple of days ago I entered at Liu-Jo shop and was very surprised to see their prices went pretty sky-high and the quality stays the same. I had seen a denim jacket with a line of sequinned pearls and it costed as much as a leather jacket !. I am sorry cause I have seen the same thing happening to another brand, Sixty was a brand I adored but I don't buy as much as I used to from them cause prices went ridiculously high and the quality didn't improve.
I think this is a no win strategy cause people will either go to higher quality brands or if they need o save, will go to low cost brand.
Another thing that bugs me is that a few shops in my town sell clothes from abroad online shops at a higher price...don't they know that now that most of online shops sell worldwide customers can check on the price ? It's not a good thing when you find out only after your purchase that you could have ordered that dress online for a much cheaper price !. Italians: do you agree ? And if you are not in Italy: does it happen in your country, as well ?. Anyway, as a result of this I find myself more and more attracted to online shopping !.

Non mi piace lamentarmi ma ultimamente qualcosa mi infastidisce...noto che molti brand di medio livello hanno alzato i prezzi in modo davvero ingiustificato. L'altro giorno, ad esempio, sono entrata nel monomarca Liu-Jo e ho trovato dei prezzi molto alti per la qualità dei prodotti. Avevo puntato una giacchina in jeans che solo per un filo di perle applicate costava come una giacca di pelle !.
Credo che questa non sia una strategia vincente perché le persone preferiranno puntare o su brand dalla qualità maggiore o, se vogliono risparmiare, andranno sul low cost !. Mi dispiace perché ho visto accadere una cosa simile alla Sixty, brand che adoravo e che ora uso poco proprio perché a mio modesto parere i prezzi sono troppo alti e la qualità non è cresciuta.
Credo questa strategia non sia premiante: a questo punto molta gente preferirà puntare su brand di livello più alto oppure si dirigerà su brand low cost che hanno almeno un prezzo inferiore.
Un'altra cosa fastidiosa: alcuni negozi della mia città vendono abiti che si possono comprare online da negozi esteri ad un prezzo notevolmente superiore...non sanno forse che ormai, dato che la maggior parte dei negozi online spediscono in tutto il mondo, i clienti possono controllare il prezzo ? Non è piacevole scoprire solo dopo l'acquisto di aver pagato inutilmente un prezzo gonfiato. Italiani: siete d'accordo con me ? E se non siete in Italia: accade anche nel vostro paese ?. Io, di conseguenza, mi scopro sempre più fan dello shopping online !.

Studded boots, asymmetrical skirt

One of the trends of the moment is the asymmetrical skirt, could a fashionista like me resist without buying at least one ? Obviously not ! I got this asymmetrical skirt from Zara and I have paired it with my brand new Jeffrey Campbell "Devoure" studded boots, I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them, wanting them and buying them has been immediate !.
I paired the green skirt with a simple black wool sweater and a furry vest, and used a Moschino belt I've bought a long time ago.
I added a bit of color block with my Prada bag that was as heavy as it could be...everytime I ask myself why do I keep bringing so many things with me and the answer is that I am a control freak, I like to have many things with me even if I won't use them at all. Since when I have the Ipad, I try to make it fit inside my bags...it fits inside of this one, but it sure adds some extra weight and I didn't need it !.

Uno dei trend del momento è la gonna asimmetrica, poteva una fashionista come me resistere senza acquistarne neanche una ? Ovviamente no ! Ho comprato questa gonna da Zara e l'ho indossata insieme ai miei nuovi stivaletti borchiati di Jeffrey Campbell, modello "Devour", con loro è stato amore a prima vista !.
Ho abbinato la gonna verde con un maglioncino di lana leggera nero e un gilet di pelliccia sintetica, usando una mia vecchia cintura di Moschino.
Ho aggiunto un po' di color block con la borsa rosso ciliegia di Prada, che devo ammettere era davvero pesante...ogni volta mi chiedo il perché continui a portare così tante cose nella mia borsa e la risposta è che sono una fissata del controllo, mi piace avere tutto a portata di mano anche se poi finisco per non usare quasi nulla. Poi, da quando ho l'Ipad, cerco di farlo entrare in borsa...riesco a farlo entrare perfettamente in questa ma sicuramente aggiunge del peso extra del quale non avevo bisogno !.

Browsing through this outfit and also the previous post of my blog I understand more and more that I have an eclectic style. It's just like when I go to the movies - I am an avid Sci-fi fan, a sucker for romantic movies, a lover of funny ones, so interested by dramas and true stories. If I like so many different kind of stories, then why should I just keep my style the same ? I think it's ok for iconic people such as Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour, Armani, to sport the same look over and over.
I prefer to change and to buy things I like without worrying if they fit in a certain style or not or if it might result annoying to a "few close minded people". I think this comes with adult age...when I was a teenager I had my black turtleneck moment and felt like disappearing in the crowd...I didn't step out much of my comfort zone, all I wanted was to be like the others, now instead I'd feel so bored dressing up always in the same way !. I have to say I feel myself whatever I wear cause my look does not define me, I am the one defining my look, what do you think ?. I am not afraid to experiment and most of all I have fun with fashion :-). Oh, and I am just slightly annoyed when people stare at my outfits, or just don't understand them. Life would be so boring if we all dressed and thought the same, don't you think so ?.

Riguardando questo outfit e gli outfit precedenti del mio blog capisco sempre di più di avere uno stile eclettico. E' come quando vado al cinema - sono un'amante della fantascienza, adoro i film romantici, mi piace ridere con quelli comici, seguo i film drammatici e autobiografici. Se mi piacciono tanti generi diversi, perché dovrei mantenere il mio stile sempre uguale ?. Penso sia ok per icone come Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour, Armani, indossare sempre lo stesso tipo di abbigliamento.
Io preferisco cambiare e comprare ciò che mi piace senza preoccuparmi se rientri nello stesso stile o se possa irritare qualche "mente più chiusa". Penso sia anche una conseguenza dell'età adulta...quando ero una teenager ho avuto il mio momento delle maglie a collo alto nere, volevo sparire in mezzo alla folla...l'importante era non spiccare ed essere uguale agli altri era più importante, ora invece mi annoierei indossando sempre lo stesso tipo di abiti !.
Devo dire che mi sento me stessa qualsiasi cosa indossi perché non è il look a definire me, sono io a definire il mio look, che ne pensate ?. Non ho paura di sperimentare e soprattutto mi diverto a giocare con la moda :-). Inoltre, sono solo leggermente infastidita quando qualcuno mi fissa o non capisce il mio abbigliamento. La vita sarebbe molto noiosa se tutti vestissimo e la pensassimo nello stesso modo, non credete ?.

My closet is always ready to host new fashion items so wait for some more asymmetrical skirts outfits, they're a bit everywhere and I like this trend very much ! This, of course, until the next fashion obsession...cause fashion fades, but the desire for new trends doesn't ! It's what keeps fashion alive in my humble opinion !.

Il mio armadio è sempre pronto ad ospitare nuovi articoli di moda, pertanto aspettatevi altre foto con gonne asimmetriche, dato che sono un po' ovunque e questo trend mi piace molto ! Questo, ovviamente, fino al prossimo trend...perché le mode passano ma la voglia di nuove tendenze no ! E' ciò che a mio modesto parere tiene viva la moda !.

Mustard, anyone ?

I confess I hardly go out of Zara without buying something, even a small thing...I sometimes amaze myself at the money I can spend there cause it's true prices are good but I end up spending much more money when I enter low cost shops, cause I don't think twice before buying something...I tell myself I should stop for a minute to ask myself "do I really need this ?" but anyway I am master at finding a good excuse to my shopping...so when I ask myself "do I really need it ?" the answer is always..."yes !!! I really do !".
Don't even try to imagine how fastly I realized I needed a mustard colored coat, a few weeks ago...I mean, mustard is a perfect color for autumn and this year it is one of the trendiest colors to wear...I think it goes well with my skin tone and most of all the shape was so cute ! Plus, there was only one left in my size at local Zara...and it wasn't expensive at all...do I need to add more excuses ??.

Confesso di riuscire raramente ad uscire da Zara senza un acquisto, anche se fosse solo una piccola cosa...a volte mi sorprendo dei soldi che riesco a spenderci perché, se è vero che i prezzi sono più competitivi, è anche vero che finisco per spendere di più nei negozi low cost perché non penso due volte prima di comprare qualcosa...dico a me stessa che dovrei fermarmi un attimo e chiedermi "ne ho davvero bisogno ?" ma, ad ogni modo, sono una esperta nel trovare ottime scuse al mio shopping...così, anche quando mi chiedo "ne ho davvero bisogno ?" la risposta è sempre "sìììì, veramente !".
Non provate neanche ad immaginare quanto sia stata veloce nel capire che avevo necessità di un cappotto color mostarda, qualche settimana fa...voglio dire, questo color mostarda è perfetto per l'autunno ed è uno dei colori più alla moda quest'anno...penso si adatti bene al mio tono di pelle e soprattutto il taglio era così carino ! In più, aggiungete il fatto che ne era rimasto uno solo nella mia taglia dal mio Zara di fiducia...e non era costoso....devo aggiungere altre scuse ??.

So here it is, directly from my closet...worn with a pair of new Cheap Monday jeans (new shop in town selling them + good price + comfy + quite high waisted = bought in 30 seconds !), H&M top (deers ? Glittery ? Taken !!!) and leopard scarf (as if I needed a good reason to buy something animalier, with my leopard print obsession, I can add it contains cashmere wool and I am a sucker for cashmere items !) and Icone boots (when I found them I thought they matched perfectly that Juicy Couture bag...and yes, they do !). The wind was quite chilly and I was trying to keep my hair in the right place...don't you just hate it when your hair goes all in your face and draw something with your lipstick on your cheeks and glasses ? :-) Why is it so glam to have your hair moved by the wind in music videos and movies and whenever it is windy I feel like a total fool, instead ? Well, the wind can be a good excuse to find a shelter in a nice shop ;-).

Così, eccolo, direttamente dal mio armadio...indossato con un paio di nuovi jeans di Cheap Monday (nuovo negozio in città che li vende + ottimo prezzo + comodità + abbastanza a vita alta = comprati in 30 secondi !), maglia di H&M (cervi ? Luccichii ? Presa !!!) e sciarpona leopardata (come se avessi bisogno di una buona ragione per comprare qualcosa di animalier, con la mia ossessione per le stampe leopardate, posso aggiungere che contiene del cashmere e io adoro gli articoli in cashmere !) e stivaletti di Icone (quando li ho trovati ho pensato che andassero benissimo con la mia borsa di Juicy Couture...e infatti, è così !).
Il vento era abbastanza gelido e stavo cercando di non tenere i miei capelli al posto giusto...non odiate quando i capelli vanno tutti in faccia e disegnano qualcosa con il rossetto sulle vostre guance e occhiali ? :-). Perché la scena dei capelli mossi dal vento è così glam nei video musicali o film e invece ogni volta che è ventoso io mi sento come una completa stupida ? Beh, il vento può essere una ottima scusa per trovare rifugio in un bel negozio ;-).

The cookies of the day are about my fave tv series...I love relaxing myself with watching some lovely tv show and these are my fave series of the moment, the ones I am following:

- Gossip Girl (a bit tired of the Prince story but I can't stop following ! I want Chuck with Blair !)
- How I met your mother ? (always so funny !)
- Person of Interest (love Michael Emerson, such a good actor since Lost !)
- PanAm (this is my fave at the moment - amazing plot and fashion !)
- Hart of Dixie (so sweet !)
- Terra Nova (a bit bored by it at the moment but wanna see how far it goes...)
- The Cleveland Show (too cool !)
- Glee (still like it !)
