End of March Makeup haul

Ops, I did it again ! I had been planning a makeup shopping bag that would allow me to splurge over new clothes and accessories for Spring, then I kept receiving messages on my phone and also paper invitation to my favorite stores (Limoni and Sephora), claiming I had a 20% discount and that time was running out. 

I tried to resist but then I realized I had to restock some of my usual products. As it always happens, I ended up buying also something else because I just can't resist to new makeup, especially when it's lips related, and this haul is my end of March outcome ;)

Ops, l'ho fatto di nuovo ! Avevo pianificato uno stop agli acquisti di profumeria che mi concedesse di focalizzare tutte le mie risorse su abiti e accessori per la Primavera, poi ho iniziato a ricevere messaggi sul cellulare e anche inviti cartacei a casa da parte dei miei negozi preferiti (Limoni e Sephora), che mi ricordavano del mio sconto del 20% prossimo alla scadenza. 

Così, nonostante i buoni propositi, ho ceduto non appena ho ricordato che alcuni dei miei prodotti di uso quotidiano stavano per finire e mi conveniva riassortirli.

Come accade sempre, ho finito per acquistare anche altro, non posso resistere a nuovo makeup, specialmente se si parla di rossetti e gloss. Questo è il bottino di fine marzo ;)

My Spring 2014 Makeup haul

I've been really a good girl, trying to avoid Sephora for a while, especially after buying some lipsticks and lip liners at MAC store about a month ago. But good girls can't be good forever, and I decided I'd go to Sephora to buy a new bottle of Burberry Body Perfume, going for the rose gold limited edition one, then I saw the new collections of makeup in store. I got so weak, and I ended up buying a few things that caught my attention. Here's my little Spring 2014 makeup haul for January...I know I needed this stuff, tell me you understand me and you agree with me ! ;)

Ho cercato di fare la brava ragazza, provando ad evitare Sephora per un po', specialmente dopo aver speso un bel po' in rossetti e matite labbra nel negozio MAC, circa un mese fa. Le brave ragazze non possono esserlo per sempre, e ho deciso di andare da Sephora per ricomprare il profumo Burberry Body, che adoro e del quale ho scelto l'edizione limitata rose gold, quando ho visto le nuove collezioni makeup presenti in negozio e sono diventata debole. E' andata a finire che ho comprato alcuni prodotti che hanno catturato immediatamente la mia attenzione. Ecco il mio piccolo bottino makeup collezioni Primavera 2014 del mese di Gennaio...so che avevo davvero bisogno di queste cose, ditemi che mi capite e che siete d'accordo con me ! ;)

Beauty and Make up haul

Hey everyone ! This is just a quick post to show you some of my latest beauty and make up purchases. First of all, I bet most of you image what is in that cute Chanel box above...I had already told you in a previous post that I wanted to buy them, and I did it ! I am talking about Chanel beauty serums, Le Jour, La Nuit and Le Weekend. I have decided to buy all of them and for that I have taken advantage of the box with the three of them together. I've been using them regularly and I already feel my skin is smoother and is glowing...I love them ! They are my latest obsession and also an awesome add to my beauty case and to my beauty daily routine.

Ciao a tutti ! Questo post è dedicato ad alcuni dei miei ultimi acquisti in fatto di cura delle pelle e di make up. Prima di tutto, scommetto che molti di voi già sanno cosa contiene quella bella scatola con il logo Chanel che vedete sopra...vi avevo già detto in un post precedente che volevo acquistarli, e l'ho fatto ! Sto parlando dei sieri di bellezza Chanel, Le Jour, La Nuit and Le Weekend. Ho deciso di prenderli tutti e perciò ho approfittato dell'offerta della scatola che li conteneva tutti e tre. Li sto usando regolarmente e sento già che la pelle è più liscia e morbida e il colorito più luminoso...li adoro ! Sono la mia ultima ossessione beauty e una fantastica aggiunta nel mio beauty case e nella mia routine quotidiana. 

Mini Sephora haul

I promised myself I would stop buying make up, but everytime I get the chance to have a coupon or a discount at local Sephora, I KNOW I am gonna spend more money into make up and beauty products, and that the 20% discount is just an excuse for another shopping spree...it was the case also this time, even tho I tried to control myself !.

In this post I want to show you the 4 items I bought, in a mini Sephora haul :).

I managed to bring home the Guerlain "Madame Rougit" limited edition blush that was in my wishlist, if you remember...I am happy with this purchase because the colors are very pretty and it smells divine !.

Avevo promesso a me stessa di smetterla di spendere soldi in profumeria, ma ogni volta che ricevo una cartolina con lo sconto Sephora, sono perfettamente cosciente del fatto che spenderò altri soldi per prodotti di bellezza e trucco, e che il fatto che siano scontati del 20% è solo una scusa per fare altre spese...è accaduto anche questa volta, sebbene sia riuscita a non esagerare !. 

In questo post ho deciso di mostrarvi i miei 4 acquisti, ovvero il mio mini bottino Sephora :).

Ho portato a casa l'edizione limitata del blush Guerlain "Madame Rougit" che era già nella mia wishlist, se vi ricordate...sono super felice di questo acquisto perché il blush ha dei colori stupendi, oltre al fatto che profuma divinamente !.

This is mostly a fashion blog, there is no need to say it, as I have a huge obsession with clothes and accessories, but deep in my heart I KNOW that if I put all the money I spend in make up and beauty products all together, I could easily buy myself a few Chanel bags per year. It's just that I can't resist to new make up products and to serums/creams that promise to make my skin glow and look well rested, even if I work at day and blog at night ;). 

Whenever I venture myself into Sephora, I end up buying way too many things, the beauty shop is my Wonderland. This edition of my #thecookiejar column is dedicated to what I am craving right now about beauty products...help me to resist, and tell me whether you have a few beauty cravings, as well, so that we can cheer each other up !.

Questo è principalmente un fashion blog, non c'è bisogno di dirlo, data la mia ossessione per abiti e accessori, ma in fondo al mio cuore io SO che se mettessi insieme tutti i soldi che spendo abitualmente in make up e prodotti di bellezza potrei facilmente comprarmi qualche borsa Chanel all'anno.

Il fatto è che non riesco proprio a resistere a non comprare nuovi prodotti make up e sieri/creme che promettano di rendere la mia pelle luminosa e dall'apparenza riposata, sebbene io dorma poco e lavori di giorno e blogghi la notte ;). 

Ogni volta che mi addentro da Sephora, finisco per uscirne carica di acquisti, la profumeria è il mio paese delle meraviglie. Questa edizione della rubrica #thecookiejar è dedicata alla mia wishlist di prodotti beauty...aiutatemi a resistere e fatemi sapere se anche voi avete qualche desiderio beauty, così ci possiamo consolare a vicenda !.

My top 5 morning essentials

My 5 morning essentials

I was having fun creating a set with Beautysets and I have decided to make a set with my top morning essentials. People following me on Twitter already know that I am not a very morning person.
I am not saying I'd want to sleep until very late everyday, but I sure hate the alarm clock and also I would like to have the time to enjoy a slow breakfast, reading the newspapers, and starting the day in a peaceful way. Instead, during the week mornings are for running and trying to look a better version of myself. In the image above you can find my top picks that help me surviving an early wake up:
1. A miracle brush that is so helpful to keep my hair into shape and prevent them to go frizzy and protects my dry ends
2. Concealer and Brightener that make my skin look better and hide my dark circles caused by lack of sleep and also too much time in front of a pc screen (you know, it happens when you work in an office and when you blog during your free time !)
3. A blush with coral/peach tone, to give some natural color to my pale skin, so I don't look like a carachter from Twilight, in the morning !
4. A vibrant color lipstick to add some energy and to make me look awaken even tho my brain is still in a stand by condition (justsaying !)
5. Obviously, nothing could have any effect without the King of breakfast, the fuel to my body: coffee !. I am officially addicted !.

Mi stavo divertendo a provare Beautysets e ho deciso di creare un set con i miei prodotti essenziali del mattino. Chi mi segue già su Twitter sa che non sono una persona esageratamente mattiniera.
Non dico che vorrei dormire sempre fino a tardi, ma certamente odio il suono della sveglia e mi piacerebbe avere il tempo di godermi una bella colazione lenta, leggendo i giornali e poter iniziare la giornata in modo pacifico.
Invece, nel corso della settimana, le mattine sono tutte una corsa contro il tempo per cercare di sembrare la versione migliorata di me stessa. Nella immagine potete trovare le mie scelte per sopravvivere ad un brusco risveglio:
1. Una spazzola miracolosa che possa aiutare a tenere la piega ai miei capelli tendenti al crespo e secchi alle punte
2. Correttore e illuminante, magica coppia per migliorare la mia pelle e nascondere le occhiaie dovute a poche ore di sonno e anche a troppo tempo al computer (tra il lavoro in ufficio e il blog nel tempo libero !)
3. Un blush dal tono corallo/pesca, che possa dare colore al pallido fantasma che sono appena sveglia, per non sembrare un personaggio di Twilight
4. Un rossetto dal colore vibrante che faccia sembrare più sveglie anche se in fondo in fondo il cervello è ancora in stand by
5. Ovviamente, niente ha effetto senza il re della colazione, la benzina per il mio corpo: il caffé ! Ne sono dipendente !.

New in: confessions of a makeupaholic !

First of all, let me express my deepest sympathy to the fellow beauty bloggers out there...people might think taking outfit pics can be a hassle, and that taking pics of make up and objects in general is very easy...actually it's not true ! I am a make up junkie and very often I would love to show off my latest beauty related purchases...but taking pics to blushes, palettes and lipsticks is not easy at all, most of the times it takes so much time and patience, moreover the result is not the one I wanted, colors seem different, the pics turn out blurred and so on. Add to this that taking pics to already used items is not the case, and I am too eager to try my new things to wait to take pics. Anyway, here we are with a few pics of my latest make up purchases, before I start using them for real and they can't be photographed anymore, LOL. Let me start with (pic above) Estée Lauder's Pure Color Five Color EyeShadow Palette "Pretty Naughty" and Pure Color Illumination Powder Gelée Blush "Tease". This blush is probably my fave purchase among the ones I am showing you !.

Innanzitutto, lasciatemi esprimere la mia profonda solidarietà a tutte le beauty bloggers della blogosfera...la gente potrebbe pensare che fare foto di outfit sia una fatica e che farle, invece, a make up ed oggetti inanimati sia semplice e veloce...assolutamente falso ! Io sono una grande amante del make up e spesso vi vorrei mostrare i miei nuovi acquisti in fatto di trucco...ma fare foto a blush, palette e rossetti non è affatto semplice, richiede molto tempo e pazienza, oltretutto il risultato è spesso diverso da quello sperato...colori che sembrano diversi, foto sfuocate e così via. Aggiungeteci il fatto che fare foto a prodotti giù usati non è il massimo, e spesso sono troppo impaziente di provare le mie nuove meraviglie !. Tutto ciò premesso, eccovi qualche foto dei miei ultimi acquisti in fatto di make up, prima che io li inizi ad usare e li renda impresentabili !. Iniziamo con (nella foto in alto)la palette primaverile di Estée Lauder "Pretty Naughty" e il blush rosa illuminante in formula gel-polvere "Tease". Questo blush è probabilmente l'acquisto che preferisco tra quelli che vi mostro in questo post !.

This Chanel palette "Eclats du soir" is from Christmas collection, bought as soon as it came out but I didn't have the courage to start using it, yet ! Love it :). Ooh la Lift from Benefit has already become my best friend, especially in the morning, it helps brightening the under-eye area and for me it works so well !. Then we have Dior nail polish "Gris Trianon" (already on my nails) and Chanel nail polish for Spring, Fracas (not tried yet).

Questa palette occhi di Chanel "Eclats du soir" proviene dalla collezione natalizia, comprata non appena comparsa nei negozi ma non l'ho ancora inziata ! La adoro :). Ooh La lift di Benefit è già diventato il mio migliore amico, specialmente al mattino, aiuta ad illuminare la zona sotto agli occhi e funziona davvero bene !. Poi abbiamo lo smalto Dior "Gris Trianon", già sulle mie unghie, e il nuovo smalto della collezione primaverile Chanel "Fracas" (non ancora provato).

My beloved Dior palette Cherie Bow #001 Rose Poudre it's so cute ! I also bought the Diorblush Cherie Bow Edition #659 in Tender Coral. I am pretty obsessed with coral blushes so it had to be mine !.

La mia agognata palette Dior Cherie Bow n. 001 Rose Poudre è troppo carina ! Di questa collezione ho preso anche il blush Cherie Bow Edition #659 in Tender Coral. Sono fissata con i blush corallo e l'ho dovuto fare mio !.

The stick you see on the left is a new product from Benefit, Fine-One-One, a sheer brightening cheek & lip color. I was so attracted by this one and hope it won't disappoint me, anyway I usually love all Benefit products !. The lipsticks are from Estée Lauder, Pure Color Vivid shine in Magnetic Magenta and Pink Riot, and the Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick is from Spring collection and it's called Envoutante. I love these lipsticks so badly !.

Lo stick che vedete a sinistra è un nuovo prodotto di Benefit, Fine-One-One, un illuminante colorato per guance e labbra che ha attirato subito la mia attenzione, spero non mi deluda ma di solito amo tutti i prodotti Benefit !. I rossetti sono di Estée Lauder, della serie Pure Color Vivid shine nei colori Magnetic Magenta e Pink Riot, e il rossetto Chanel Rouge Allure è della collezione primaverile, si chiama Envoutante.

These purchases are from a couple of months ago, two palettes, one from Urban Decay (Dangerous Palette) and the other one is from Too Faced, it's called the return of Sexy. The first one is cool but I found out I had half of those colors already in another UD palette, it seems they tend to repeat themselves and I blame it also on me for buying without thinking twice. The other palette is very cool but also very shimmery, I am guilty of that, too !. You can see the eye liner in the corner, it's from Too Faced and I've been using it so much lately, it's the 3 Way Lash Lining tool, perfect for cat eyes and I am gonna buy it again and again and...again ! ;). On the right corner, Essie's nail polish "Cute as a button".

In questa foto troviamo due palettes che risalgono ad un paio di mesi fa, una di Urban Decay (Dangerous palette) e l'altra di Too Faced, chiamata The Return of Sexy. La prima è molto bella ma ho scoperto solo dopo di avere già la metà degli stessi ombretti in un'altra palette UD, pare tendano a ripetersi e io a comprare troppo senza pensarci due volte. L'altra palette è stupenda anche se i colori sono troppo shimmer, mi dichiaro colpevole anche per questa !. Potete vedere, in un angolo, l'eye liner di Too Faced a tre punte "3 Ways Lash Lining Tool", perfetto per gli occhi "da gatta", che adoro e comprerò ancora, ancora e...ancora !.

I would still have other things to show you but I'll better stop. I love make up and whenever I enter into Sephora I am ready to spend too much on make up, sometimes I tell myself I have to use what I already have, then so many new products come out and new seasonal collections and BAM ! Here I am again, back at square one like a true makeupaholic :). Do you have my same addiction ? Do you own any of the products I have showed you in this post ? Do you plan to buy anything ?. Is there anything you think I should add to my newest purchases ? I am very curious to know !.

Avrei ancora tante cose da mostrarvi ma è meglio che mi fermi, ora. Il fatto è che adoro il make up e ogni volta che entro da Sephora sono pronta a fare danni...a volte mi dico che è meglio che usi tutte le cose che ho già prima di prenderne altre, poi escono nuovi prodotti, le collezioni stagionali e BAM ! Ricado nell'acquisto ancora una volta, sono una vera makeupdipendente :). Avete la mia stessa dipendenza ? Avete già qualche prodotto che vi ho mostrato in questo post ? New in: bandeau bikinis

Summer is here and many of us will spend at least a few days on the beach...so, let's talk about swimwear !.
What are your fave kind of swimsuits ? I like my swimwear to be:
- Colorful: fun, it makes me feel more "on vacation"
- Strapless: aka no untanned spots !
- Tight: hate it when a swimsuit is too loose...

I am a big fan of bandeau bikinis, I think they are flattering for my figure and they are also very comfy because strapless I don't have to tie and untie them all the time and I can also avoid awful signs ;).
Here below, a few pics of my swimwear purchases for this summer ! I cannot promise those are the only swimsuits for this year, I am lucky enough to live by the seaside and I love to change my look also at the beach !.

L'estate sembra ormai arrivata e molte di noi trascorreranno almeno qualche giorno in spiaggia...allora, parliamo di costumi !. Voi come li preferite ? Personalmente, so che i miei costumi da bagno devono essere:
- Colorati: mi fanno sentire maggiormente "in vacanza" ;)
- Senza spalline: evitano i segni bianchi !
- Aderenti: non sopporto i costumi troppo grandi e che si "allargano"...

Sono una fan dei costumi a fascia, li trovo adatti al mio fisico nonché comodi anche perché non lasciano segni di spalline e non devo stare a toglierle e legarle nuovamente.
Ecco a voi qualche foto dei miei costumi per quest'estate ! Non posso promettere di non comprarne altri dato che ho la fortuna di vivere sul mare e mi piace cambiare look anche in spiaggia !.

Make up and beauty essentials

As all make up junkies, I keep buying make up items, I like to change colors, textures according to trends, trying new things and whenever I see a limited edition something, I feel the urge to have it, it seems that limited edition screams "buy me" !. Anyway, like most of you I suppose, I do have a few make up and beauty essentials, the items I keep buying cause I'd feel lost without. I wanna tell you about them in this post !. Check those out and let me know whether we have any essentials in common or not, and what are yours !.

Come tutte le amanti del make up, continuo a comprare nuovi prodotti, mi piace cambiare colori, textures a seconda delle mode, provare le novità e ogni volta che vedo una edizione limitata di qualcosa, sento il bisogno irrefrenabile di accaparrarmela, è come se accanto a "edizione limitata" ci fosse scritto "comprami" !. Comunque, come molte di voi suppongo, ho alcuni prodotti essenziali sia di make up che non che non mi faccio mai mancare perché senza mi sentirei persa. Voglio parlarvene in questo post !. Date un'occhiata e fatemi sapere se abbiamo qualche "essential" in comune e quali sono i vostri !.

In the set above you can see some of my make up essentials (click on the image to enlarge it). Those are my must haves !.
1. Too Faced - Primed and Poreless primer - makes my face very smooth and it's a great base before foundation. It doesn't give me any problem such as pimples or dry skin feeling ! I have tried Smashbox and a couple of other primers but this one remains my absolute fave and I always have it in my make up bag!.
2. Too Faced - Shadow Insurance - another primer for eyelids this time ! Love it so much, it works so well against all fading, creasing and smudging and intensifies the color. The best one !.
3. Guerlain - Lingerie de Peau it's a lightweight foundation, THE foundation to me, it's longwearing and light at the same time but covers up perfectly
4. Chanel - waterproof liner in ebene - a black eyeliner pencil, I love it ! The only bad thing is that these kind of lead pencil are likely to break up before their time is due, LOL.
5. Make up Forever Aqua smokey lash - ultra black mascara that lasts like forever and does wonders to me !.
6. Benefit - Erase Paste the best concealer to me, I use the lightest one and it covers up dark circles like no other. It's magic !.
7. Make Up Forever Aqua lip liner 3C - I am not obsessed with lip pencils, I don't even use them always but this one in this color (3C) is different...it works so well with any lipstick I have, either pink, beige or even coral color...and just makes the lips more beautiful without being noticed too much !.
8. Jane Iredale Pressed Powder - my compact transparent finishing powder is mineral based and it gives my face the right amount of matte effect without the baby powder effect I hate !. I keep it in my bag always for a quick retouch.

1. Too Faced - Primed and Poreless primer - rende la mia pelle liscia e minimizza le imperfezioni. Non mi causa brufoli né altri problemi ! Ho provato il primer della Smashbox e anche un altro paio di primer ma questo rimane il mio preferito in assoluto e lo porto sempre con me !.
2. Too Faced - Shadow Insurance - un primer base per il trucco occhi ! Lo adoro, funziona alla perfezione ed oltre che evitare che l'ombretto vada nelle pieghette dell'occhio e sbavi, rende i colori più intensi e duraturi. Il migliore per me !.
3. Guerlain - Lingerie de Peau - fondotinta dalla texture leggera ma ugualmente coprente, IL fondotinta per me, dura a lungo senza necessità di ritocchi ed è facile da sfumare. Io uso il colore 03.
4. Chanel - waterproof liner color in ebano - un eyeliner che amo ! L'unica cosa che mi infastidisce è la mina estraibile che lo rende un po' delicato, non riesco mai a finire questo tipo di matite senza che si spezzino...ma l'effetto è ottimo e fa benissimo il suo lavoro.
5. Make up Forever Aqua smokey lash - mascara waterproof nero, lunga durata, sulle mie ciglia va a meraviglia...un must have !.
6. Benefit - Erase Paste, il miglior correttore per le mie occhiaie ! Per me è magico. Io uso la tonalità più chiara.
7. Make Up Forever Aqua lip liner 3C - non sono un'amante delle matite labbra, ma questa e solo nella tonalità 3C è per me un must have che compro sempre...il giusto colore che va bene con tutti i rossetti che ho, sia rosa che beige che addirittura corallo ed evidenzia le labbra senza risultare eccessiva

2. Yes to Carrots body butter. This one is a must have if you want a very rich butter that leaves the skin very hydrated and soft. The price is quite cheap and it works perfectly !.
3. J'Adore deodorant. I use the same deodorant as my perfume cause I like the fact it intensifies the perfume. Moreover I do prefer the vapo version, I don't like stick roll-ons deodorants.
4. Caudalie nourishing lotion is another option after the shower and also in other moments of the day when I feel my skin is "thirsty". It is so easily absorbed and the smell is very discreet.
5. Yes to Carrots shower gel. This shower gel is just perfect to me, it leaves my skin smooth and soft (I have dry skin) and I like the delicate scent.

2. Yes to Carrots body butter. Questo è sicuramente un must have per chi desidera un burro per il corpo molto ricco che lasci la pelle super idratata. Il prezzo è abbastanza economico e funziona alla grande !.
3. Dior - J'Adore deodorant. Uso il deodorante con la stessa profumazione, mi piace perché intensifica il profumo e mi trovo molto bene con la versione spray, non mi piacciono gli stick roll-on.
4. Caudalie nourishing lotion è un'altra opzione per il dopo doccia e in altri momenti del giorno in cui la pelle tira essendo particolarmente "assetata". Si assorbe immediatamente e ha un profumo non invadente.
5. Yes to Carrots shower gel. Questo gel doccia è perfetto per me. Lascia la mia pelle soffice e idratata al punto giusto (ho la pelle secca) e mi piace anche il suo profumo molto delicato.

YSL Rouge Pure Couture Glossy Stain: Pure Love !

It's official ! I have fallen in love with Yves Saint Laurent's Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains ! I had to share this with you ! This glossy stain combines the long wearing power of a stain and the glossy finish of a gloss. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first tried it !.
It works without making my lips dry, something I usually hate...I have it in two colors (for now): #13 - Rose Tempura and #15 - Rose Vynil (you can see #15 in the pic above and #13 is in the pic below). I prefer #15 cause it's a nice shade of pink that I can wear all the time, #13 is more of a reddish fuchsia and it's perfect for a night out, but I think I am gonna buy some more colors soon !.
I hate it when my lipsticks wears off so soon and it doesn't happen at all with those Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains !.

E' ufficiale ! Mi sono innamorata dei Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains di Yves Saint Laurent ! Dovevo condividere questa mia nuova ossessione con voi ! Questi "glossy stain" combinano la lunga durata propria dei lip stains alla lucidità propria dei gloss.
Non potevo credere ai miei occhi quando l'ho provato la prima volta ! Funziona davvero senza seccare le labbra, cosa che odio...per ora ne ho due: il n. 13 - Rose Tempura e il n. 15 - Rose Vynil (il n. 15 è nella foto sopra, il n. 13 nell'immagine sotto). Tra i due preferisco il n. 15 in quanto si tratta di una bella gradazione di rosa per me più portabile di giorno, invece il 15 è un fucsia-rosso che trovo perfetto per una serata speciale, ma credo proprio che ne comprerò altri !.
Odio quando il rossetto va via subito e non accade di certo con questi Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stains !.

Playing with nail polish

When I was a kid and had to stay home because of the bad weather, I used to take all my Lego bricks out of a big box I had and play with them. Now that I am a grown up and weather is being really bad, I can always play with something I like a lot...my nail polish collection !.

In these pics you can see part of my collection. I have another big box with many cheaper brands, these one you see are my fave nail polish so far in my ever growing collection. I like nail polish so much and I have to admit I'd feel naked going out with bare nails...what about you ?.

I usually have quite short or medium nails, I think they're easier to handle. I don't have any recostruction on them, I try to keep them strong by applying a streghtening base (using Esse all in one base at the moment).
My fave brands are OPI and Chanel. OPI makes long lasting, easy to put on polishes and has tons of original colors - I even like the names they give them ! Chanel makes absolutely the trendiest nail polishes, deciding the must have colors of the season...plus they have the best packaging ever, don't you agree ?. I also love Dior nail polish even tho I have been a bit disappointed by the final result on my nails, it got chipped very quickly. I am happy that local Sephora is finally selling Essie nail polish cause they have many lovely colors and they seem to be great so far !. What are your fave nail polish brands ?.

Quando ero una bambina e dovevo restare in casa a causa del maltempo, mi piaceva prendere tutti i miei mattoncini lego e tirarli fuori da una grande scatola per giocarci.
Ora che sono cresciuta, quando ho un po' di tempo libero in casa, posso sempre giocare con qualcosa che amo...la mia collezione di smalti !.

In queste foto potete vedere solo parte della mia collezione. Ho un'altra grande scatola piena di smalti di altri marchi, in queste foto vedete solo i preferiti ;-).
Mi piace molto portare lo smalto e ammetto che mi sentirei nuda ad uscire senza, e voi ?.
Di solito porto le unghie abbastanza corte o di media lunghezza, credo siano più facilmente gestibili, cerco inoltre di mantenerle forti applicando sempre una base indurente (al momento sto usando la base di Essie "all in one").

I miei brand preferiti di smalto sono OPI e Chanel. OPI fa dei colori stupendi e molto originali e gli smalti durano veramente tanto, oltre ad essere facilmente applicabili - mi piacciono molto anche i nomi simpatici che danno ai loro prodotti ! Chanel fa gli smalti più trendy in assoluto, lanciando ormai la moda di stagione in fatto di colori...inoltre hanno la boccetta più stilosa, non siete d'accordo ?. Mi piacciono anche gli smalti di Dior, anche se sono rimasta un po' delusa dagli ultimi che ho acquistato perché si sono sbeccati troppo presto.
Solo da poco il mio negozio Sephora di fiducia ha iniziato a vendere gli smalti Essie e non potevo che esserne contenta, ci sono tanti colori e mi sembrano ottimi ! .
Quali sono le vostre marche di smalto preferite ?.

Sometimes taking them all out is also a useful way to remember all the colors I already have and the shades I really lack in my supply, even tho I am not a rational buyer, I am more of a compulsive shopper !.

Tirarli fuori tutti si rivela utile per non dimenticare quali colori di smalto già possiedo e per capire quali siano le tonalità che invece mi mancano proprio, anche se sono una compratrice impulsiva e poco razionale !.

A set of neutrals is surely a must have and something necessary in a beauty case ! Even if you don't like nail polish too much, a basic color can be a good way to look sophisticated and chic.

Un set di colori neutri è sicuramente un must have e qualcosa di necessario in un beauty case ! Anche se non vi piace così tanto mettere lo smalto, un colore basic può essere un buon modo per apparire sofisticate e chic.

Red is the color of passion, of the nails of a 40s diva, it makes me think of an elegant, feminine woman and I think it will always be trendy and chic, especially on short/medium nails.

Il rosso è il colore della passione, delle unghie delle dive anni '40, mi fa pensare ad una donna di elegante e femminile e penso che sarà sempre di moda e di classe, specialmente su unghe corte/di media lunghezza.

I have a majority of pink nail polish bottles, bigger than Barbie girl's collection, LOL...I think I will have to calm down for a while. Anyway, it's easy to wear and there are so many lovely shades that...I think soon or later I will add some more pinkish colors in my collection !

Ho tantissime boccette di smalto rosa, ne ho più della Barbie, LOL...credo che dovrò darmi una calmata per un po'. Comunque, è un colore facile da portare e ci sono così tante belle sfumature che...credo che prima o poi comprerò altri smalti rosa !

Iridescent colors are a trend I like, as well as the non iridescent Particuliere and the glittery Graphite, a bit hard to take off :)

I like also more original colors since I admit to being a nail polish fashion victim, so I keep buying them, often going nail polish hunting for the hardest to find ones. Even when I succeed, my peace doesn't last for long cause soon I find out a new polish I desperately want !.

Mi piacciono anche i colori più originali e siccome sono una fashion victim degli smalti, continuo a comprarli, spesso andando a caccia di quelli più introvabili. Anche quando ci riesco, la mia pace non dura a lungo, perché presto scopro un nuovo smalto che devo assolutamente avere !.

A leopard can't change its spots !

It's said a leopard can't change its spots to mean a person cannot truly change the way she/he is. I feel in a way, it's true even in fashion, I am sure it happens to most of you to keep being attracted to the same things.
I realized this even more when I noticed I have several leopard shoes in my shoe closet...I mean, it's not like black shoes or neutral color shoes, it's not something everyone would wear everyday, yet I have leopard loafers, leopard sneakers, and high heeled pumps in leopard print...If wearing leopard shoes is a crime, I do plead guilty !.

Si dice che un leopardo non possa cambiare le sue macchie per dire che non si può cambiare il proprio modo di essere. Io credo sia, in qualche modo, applicabile anche alla moda...sicuramente accade anche a molti di voi di essere continuamente attratti dalle stesse cose.
Io l'ho capito ancora di più quando ho notato di avere diverse scarpe leopardate nella mia scarpiera...voglio dire, non sto parlando di scarpe nere o di colori neutri, non è certamente qualcosa che chiunque indosserebbe ogni giorno, invece ho mocassini leopardati, sneakers e tacchi alti a stampa leopardo...Se calzare scarpe leopardate fosse reato, mi dichiaro colpevole !.

I think in spite of being really eye-catching, leopard printed shoes can go well with many outfits...So here they are, two outfits with two shoes of my (growing) leo-collection.
The first outfit is more romantic and elegant, with that mid lenght golden brown skirt bought online, the short cardi from Pinko and Paciotti shoes and the other one is bolder and suitable for everyday, with a simple burgundy Mango dress, blazer shaped cardigan from Carla G and leopard ankle boots.
Which one do you prefer ? I am curious to know :-). Would you wear leopard shoes and how ?.

Io credo che nonostante siano molto appariscenti, le scarpe leopardate possano andare bene con diversi outfits...Allora eccovene due con due paia di scarpe dalla mia leo-collezione (sempre in crescita).
Il primo outfit è più romantico ed elegante, con la gonna bronzo dorata comprata online, di media lunghezza, la giacchina corta di Pinko e scarpe di Paciotti e l'altro è più grintoso e adatto a tutti i giorni, con quel semplice abitino bordeaux di Mango, cardigan a blazer di Carla G e stivaletti alla caviglia.
Quale dei due preferite ? Sono curiosa di saperlo :-). Calzereste scarpe leopardate e come le abbinereste ?.

Said that, this time of the year is a bit depressing when it comes to go out window shopping...I prefer lurking to new clothes online ! In the shops in town there are sales still and I need to see new things ! The only place I am happy to go to in these days is Sephora ! I've already bought a few things from new make up collection, here's my little haul.
I had already bought the Chanel June polish last week, the other things I've bought them yesterday and today instead. I am so in love with that Dior palette, can't wait to use it, even tho it's so beautiful that I already know I am gonna feel a bit guilty when I have to use it the first time !. The only item that is not from a new collection is the Dior lip polish, I bought it again cause I run out of it and I love it ;-) plus I think it matches Chanel's June quite well !.

Questo periodo dell'anno è un po' deprimente quando si tratta di uscire per vetrine...preferisco guardarmi le novità online ! Nei negozi in città ci sono ancora i saldi e io ho bisogno di vedere cose nuove ! L'unico luogo in cui sono contenta di andare in questi giorni è Sephora ! Ho già acquistato qualcosa dalle nuove collezioni, eccovi il mio piccolo haul.
Lo smalto Chanel June lo avevo preso dalla settimana scorsa, invece le altre cosine le ho prese tra ieri e oggi. Mi piace tantissimo la palettina Dior, non vedo l'ora di usarla, anche se è così bella che già so che mi sentirò un po' in colpa quando dovrò usarla per la prima volta !. L'unico articolo che non proviene da una nuova collezione è il lip polish di Dior, l'ho ricomprato perché mi era finito e lo adoro ;-) e in più credo si abbini bene con lo smalto June di Chanel !.
